What is a string quartet?
Two violins, a viola, and a cello make a string quartet. Our musicians are members of the Wichita Symphony and collectively have more than 50 years experience of providing music for Wichita area weddings.
What types of events can you play for?
We have experience playing for anniversary parties, cocktail hours, dinners, receptions, funerals, and garden parties.
Can you play for an outdoor wedding?
Yes, special accommodations may be necessary since temperature fluctuations and wind can be damaging to instruments.
How do I select music for my wedding?
Our contractor will meet with you four to six weeks before your wedding to select and complete your music selections. Many brides use the internet (especially youtube) to listen to the many options available. As you begin considering pieces, be sure to discuss this with the contractor to ensure available music for the quartet.
When will you start playing before my wedding?
When you have finished taking pictures and your guests are arriving, we will begin to play. We are at the ceremony site ready to play 30 minutes before the wedding.
Can you accompany a vocalist?
Yes, with careful coordination between the vocalist and the quartet. Please discuss this with the contractor if you are considering this option.
Do you attend the rehearsal?
Attending the rehearsal is not necessary.
Can you play music not listed in your repertoire?
Possibly. Please visit with our coordinator to determine availability of the sheet music and the additional fee necessary to arrange the selection for string quartet.
